We kicked them to the curb today and soaked up the warmer temperatures while we can.
Sorry I haven’t posted in quite some time, but I’ve been sorting through some issues with blogging/privacy/how open the world wide web really is. We have a fantastic holiday season! The kids had a blast, so did we, and it was nice to spend some quality time together as a family. Paul will be doing quite a bit of traveling for his job this year and we’re really going to miss him.
As usual we’ve made resolutions to diet (maybe this year we’ll stick them out) and we’ve discussed running recently. I have a plantar’s wart on my right foot that I really just need to have burned out. I had it frozen once, but it’s back and hurts more than ever. Once that’s gone I can begin to run. I did get another Jillian Michaels DVD for Christmas so I’d like to alternate between the three I have. Just doing one gets pretty boring after a month or so.
We’re also beginning to form a homeschool routine now. I’m not rigid with times, but I’d like to have a general routine to follow daily. We’ll be focusing on the extracurricular activies from now until March, take a few weeks off, then begin our official curriculum in April. Chloe is ready for it, and Zac keeps asking about school too. LOL! I’m probably going to put together 8-10 workboxes for him to use while I’m doing math with Chloe, but I’m sure he’ll tag along with everything else. The work should only take 1-1.5 hours/day for Kindergarten, with plenty of time spent outdoors.
Otherwise, we’re just organizing and planning out our year. :) I hope you all had a nice holiday season!
Today we attempted to make gingerbread houses again. I’ve tried at least a dozen times in the last decade with no success. Today I used templates to cut out our pieces. Keep your fingers crossed that they actually fit together tomorrow when we break out the frosting/glue. :)
We’ve been trying to get outside more often with cold weather. Usually we hibernate, but Zac needs to run for a bit. :) It’s nice that the temps aren’t too frigid yet. I’m having to force
Chloe out though. She’s not a fan of weather below 50 degrees F.
Today Paul and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. It was nice that Paul had the day off so we could spend the day together. We got up early and went out to run some errands. We also took the kids to the library for a little while before we came home. We spent the afternoon watching Christmas movies. It was a great day. :)
